Small acts to help others
Writing to politicians is one of the most direct ways your voice is heard in government
Even small donations save lives, fund aid deliveries, and help families survive
Sharing information keeps others informed and creates a ripple effect of awareness and action
Understanding the facts helps you speak up with confidence when it counts
Collective purchasing power is what helped dismantle South African apartheid
Adding your name helps show public concern and gives campaigns something concrete to point to
Following, engaging, and subscribing helps vital voices reach a wider audience
Showing up in person is one of the most visible ways to demand attention from those in power
The organisations already doing the work
Every action here comes from a verified organisation or campaign already doing vital work. From grassroots solidarity groups and verified fundraisers to international aid organisations and research and accountability tools, we amplify the people fighting for justice so your effort always goes to the right place.

- We personally curate daily acts from trusted organisations, campaigns and individuals already doing important work. We aim for a balance of humanitarian causes throughout the week, and select a handful of alternatives each day so you still have meaningful ways to help if you're unable to do the main act.
- Your daily streak goes up by one each day you select “I did this” on an act. Your acts counter, meanwhile, increases for every individual act you complete and won’t reset if you miss a day. We’re working on user accounts so you’ll be able to save your progress across devices. For now, your streak and acts count are stored in your browser, so clearing your browser data may reset them.
- Sometimes, the most useful thing you can do is take the time to understand an issue better. Learning about what’s happening, listening to the people affected and understanding the wider context can help you make more informed choices and take more meaningful action in the future. Not every good act has to be something visible. Sometimes, learning is where it starts.
- No. When an act involves donating, we link you directly to the fundraiser, charity or organisation. One Good Act a Day doesn’t process your payment, receive your money or take a percentage of your donation.
- We aim to make doing one good act a day as achievable as possible, so we always include a handful of alternative acts. If the main one isn’t possible for you, you can choose another meaningful way to help.
