Privacy policy

Who we are
One Good Act a Day is a daily activism habit platform at onegoodactaday.com. We surface one curated action per day to help people support Palestine solidarity and related humanitarian causes.
This is a small, individual-run project based in England, and we act as the data controller for any personal information covered by this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at hello@onegoodactaday.com.
What we collect
Very little. We've built this site to respect your privacy by default.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-respecting analytics tool, to understand how people use the site. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect any personally identifiable information. It tells us things like which pages are visited, which actions and links people interact with, and general context like country and device type, but it cannot identify any individual visitor. Our Umami analytics data is hosted in the EU.
Because Umami does not use cookies or collect personal data, no cookie consent banner is required.
Local storage
When you mark an action as complete, the site saves that information in your browser's local storage. This includes which actions you've marked as complete and when, along with your streak count. This data never leaves your device. We cannot see it, access it, or connect it to you. If you clear your browser data, this information is removed.
Third-party services
The site sometimes fetches live fundraiser data from the GazaFunds API (gazafunds.com) to show up-to-date progress on donate actions. No information about you is sent to GazaFunds during this process; the site simply requests campaign data to display.
Contact
If you email us at hello@onegoodactaday.com, we'll see your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to respond to you. We don't add contact email addresses to any mailing list or share them with anyone.
What we don't collect
We don't use cookies. We don't collect your name, email address, location, or any other personal information through the site. We don't have user accounts. We don't run advertising. We don't share or sell any data to third parties.
Third-party links
The actions on this site link to external websites (petitions, fundraisers, campaigns, organisations). Once you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any site you visit, but we have no control over how third-party sites handle your data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we process it. In most cases we hold none, because we don't run accounts, don't use cookies, and don't store personal information about visitors on our own servers. If you've emailed us and want to exercise any of these rights in relation to that correspondence, please get in touch at hello@onegoodactaday.com.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), if you believe we've handled your data improperly.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. As the site grows and new features are added (such as a newsletter or user accounts), this policy will be updated to reflect what data is collected and how it is used.
