About One Good Act a Day
Every day, we see unimaginable atrocities and continued injustices carried out unchecked, and it's easy to feel powerless and to believe nothing we can do as individuals will make any difference. But real change is brought about when enough people do enough small acts, consistently. And there are dozens of ways to make a real difference, whether that's signing a petition, boycotting specific products, or emailing your MP, for example.
The problem is that the gap between wanting to help and knowing what to do can result in days, weeks, or even months going by without doing anything at all. One Good Act a Day is here to close that gap. Every day, we give you one specific, short action you can take to stand with the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Congo, and beyond. Your role is simple: open the site, see today's action, and do it.
We have a streak counter to track how many consecutive days you've taken action, and an act counter for how many individual acts you've completed. These are here to help you build a daily habit and stick with it, so that activism becomes part of your routine rather than a burst of energy that leads to burnout. Whether you're already active or just getting started, every day here gives you a clear next step.
While donating to a family's fundraiser is one of the most directly impactful things you can do, we deliberately limit spotlight donate actions to one or two a week. The rest of the week focuses on free actions, so you can stay active every day without needing to reach for your wallet, and so that other impactful, non-donation actions get the attention they deserve too, from signing a petition to emailing your MP to watching something that deepens your understanding of a specific issue.
Why I built this
As a British citizen, I see my government actively enabling genocide while ignoring what the majority of people in this country are calling for. I built One Good Act a Day because I kept falling into the cycle of being horrified, desperately wanting to help change things, but struggling with burnout and not knowing how to maintain activism as part of daily life. So I built something to try to close that gap, for myself, for friends, and for anyone else stuck in the same place.
In solidarity
We source and amplify real campaigns run by verified organisations and individuals already doing vital work, from Medical Aid for Palestinians and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign to Operation Olive Branch, BDS Movement, and more. Everything here exists to amplify their voices, support the organisations fighting for justice, and make it easier for all of us to play our part.
The power we hold as a collective is felt when we all come together and play our role, each day. When enough of us act consistently, real change and real accountability become possible. And no matter how hopeless things may feel, we must continue to actively stand in solidarity and to keep fighting for a better world.
